Operation: Certain Death

Post  Spartan on Wed Jul 01, 2009 7:56 pm

This is a WarGame based upon the capture of British Irish Royal Regiment.

Where it is to take place: OIAJ/Iran/Middle East

Background:
The GPEO Middle East Humanitaran Aid station located outside of Tehran and outside of GPEO restricted areas is attacked. All 15 soldiers and civialns were capture and taken back to the Caspian Sea to await a "transport" to Russia. GPEO launches a task force to bring them back. It is known that there is an AB (OIGG) on the coast of the Caspian Sea not used by GPEO, and rather the Iran Civilian Self Defense Force. The AB is supposed to report to GPEO authorities once a week to make sure no uprising will take place (not that it would under the GPEO.) It has not responded yet that week (only 6 days into the next week.) There is also a know howitzer camp belonging to the MELA (the fake Middle East Liberation Army) across the border into the UCGS portion of Iran. It is known that the howitzers are advanced, so they can launch devastating artillery attacks in under 2 minutes, and zero in under 5 minutes. It is called operation Certain Death because of the guanunteed loss of life on both sides.

If GPEO aircraft/ choppers are detcted on radar, the hostages will most likely be killed. If the GPEO takes to long, the "transport" will arrive and the hostages will be taken to Russia.

The Forces:
GPEO: Veteran Military force. The utilize specialized SPOND units and experienced pilots and soldiers to fight enemies.

MELA: Iraqi Terrorist Organization. They have stolen several GPEO vehicles, including aircraft, hummvees, and the only Warthogs in the Middle East. The also have pirated several GPEO ships. They return the crews but not the ships. They have been on GPEO's bad side too long.

Advantages
GPEO
better trained pilots and soldiers
homefield advantage

MELA:
H-666 Howitzers
minefields
radar on the ground
hostages in a random spot near the Sea.
a "Transport"
AAA guns

Mission:
GPEO:
Gather Recon and rescue Hostages
Current Intel: MELA Howitzer camp(s) are surrounded by AAA and Minefields. ICSDF AB may belong to MELA also. Position of Hostages are unknown. SPOND units are limited to 10 soldiers due to several phases of their new "Super Selection" (they try to get as many members as possible without sacraficing training, thus all but one company (GPEOSOCOM, Division 2, 75th SPOND Regiment, 3rd Battalion, Delta Company "D-Boys" (50 members, 40 of which are on leave for 6 weeks due to inactivity)))

*Notes: All GPEO Forces must be staged at OIAJ. If you are NOT currently stationed there, you are to hitch a rideon a C15 Galaxy taking off from PGUA. Transportation to PGUA is you flying yourself (Helicopter pilots, hitch a ride with any 2+ seater plane as a copilot. If you are a in a VA, then you may take GPEO pilots to PGUA. Planes and weapons will be provided at OIAJ. SPOND units will have to be flown in separetly (from WADO.[If you are a cargo pilot, you may fly them from WADO to OIAJ.]). The C5 will be carrying GPEO Pilots and a full load of supplies. The C5 will include an upgarded system so you get 787 feel from a C5 (unless you are a pilot.)

MELA:
Keep Hostages "safe." Board the "Transport" and hurry to Russia, where GPEO cannot use the Military because of FSXM control. If attacked, howitzers are to open fire and zero in and focus on the possible presence of SPOND. Do not attack the GPEO staging area unless prompted to by "The Commander." Forward Recon is advised.

Aircraft to be used:
GPEO:
C5, A/C130, Lynx Chopper, AH64 Apache, UH60 Black Hawk, F15E/K Eagle, The Eurofighter, F\A 18 Hornet, E3 AWACS, B1B, v22 osprey

MELA: C130, Lynx Chopper, AH1 Cobra, M/OH6, EH101 (any paint,) Any MIG, F/A18, F15E/K, E2 Hawkeye AWACS, B1B,
Ground/Naval Forces:
GPEO: Any GPEO naval vessel, Nimitz Carrier, Hummer H1, Mercades Transport Truck
MELA: Any naval destroyer, Hummer H1, Warthog ATV, Mercades Transoprt Truck, Lexus LS430

***The wargame is supposed to take place over several days, however, no actions are to take place between 1AM and 2PM Eastern Time. The hostages will be marked somehow. undecided yet.

Ideas? Comments? I will post the Battle Map soon
