best fighter aircraft
what is at the moment the best fighter aircraft, with this i mean maneuverability, speed, fuel consumption etc.
if we all have the latest technology fighters we have more chances of victory.
Or is my point of view wrong

Fighters: Eurofighter is the NEWEST in terms of recent development, but the F15 has been almost perfected by the US military.
The F18, is really just a multirole, whereas the F15 has different versions for CAS and A/AC

Re: best fighter aircraft
Dont forget the Su-37 Terminator, that thing has been around for a while now. It is so damn manuverable its unreal, it has vectored thrust as well. The angle of attack that this aircraft can perform...amazing!!! Check it out guys!
Re: best fighter aircraft
Check out this vid of the Su-37 as well!

Re: best fighter aircraft
Well, how do we get a good realistic flying Su-37, It isnt just hanging in a tree . And I really would like to see a hud in the plane, its really annoying when u cant see ur speed and alt.
Re: best fighter aircraft
LOL, no it wont be hanging in a tree.......... though if it was id the the first one there to pick it!!! A fully working HUD would deff redude the workload on the pilot, allowing the pilot to do more important things like situational awareness whilest flying.
Re: best fighter aircraft
I would have said the SU37 but I never found one for FSX.... However, the American counterpart, the F22 Raptor is about the same, but with stealth technology (and the one I currently have has a working HUD)

Re: best fighter aircraft
ur absolutely right AAC GUY but when we want to do carrier ops it would be difficult to estimate the speed
Re: best fighter aircraft
except F15s dont land on Carriers.
Oh and the F22 Has SUpercruise:
which means (in FSX,) over 35,000 ft, you can stay at full afterburner, but without the major fuel consumption you get in any other fighter

Re: best fighter aircraft
I know that about the F-15 with the carrier ops, but what about the Su-37, can it land on a carrier?
Re: best fighter aircraft
ehhhh. I think those are SU27 Flankers. The engine/afterburner is not long enough.
SU37s are usually land based and have longer engine/afterburners (and are usually not blue, however SU27s are usually blue)

Re: best fighter aircraft
Ok, lets ait till Dragnoxz comes back and what he thinks about a better plane.
Re: best fighter aircraft
The F22 is better. Stealth, easy to fly, good HUD, SuperCruise, not a lot of buttons in the cockpit, and is the actual real life replacement for the F15, which is planned to retire in 2025.
EDIT:
I just flew the F22 Raptor at WSAP. I went from 5,000 ft to 50,000 ft in about 20 seconds, or less. The thrust vectoring is amazing, and so is the supercruise. The Supercruise tend to try and kick in at any altitude, but works best above 35,000. It goes overspeed (900 KIAS) very easily. This is a freeware F22 btw. We should replace the F15 air superiority fighter with this, but keep the F15 Strike Eagle for quick accurate close air support that can dog fight if needed. It is still very controlable down to 55 KIAS, due to thrust vectos
I know I have used the f22 in a dogfight against Dragnoxz, and I was in a hurry to climb to 45,000 feet where he was, but I failed to take into account my initial speed. It will go strait up from 5,000 to 50,000 if you go strait up starting at 800+ KIAS, which is not hard to get to in level flight. Another plus is the canopy closes around the entire cockpit, not just part where it leaves a very large canopy seal, where if you dogfight, you can easily lose your opponent if he gets behind the canopy seal.
The downside is the HUD is a little hard to see, but that can be fixed I think. I will make a video with it soon
